1. The service
CarLlama provides on-demand UK vehicle data assembled from official government sources (DVLA's Vehicle Enquiry Service and DVSA's MOT History API) and licensed commercial providers. Free checks return tax, MOT and basic registration details. Pro checks add valuation, finance, write-off and ownership history.
2. Data accuracy
We pass through data sourced from third parties and don't alter it. We can't guarantee that records are complete or up to the second — though we always pull live where we can. CarLlama is provided "as-is" and is not a substitute for an in-person inspection or independent professional advice when buying a vehicle.
3. Payments
Pro checks cost £7.95 each, billed once via Stripe Checkout. We don't store card details. Payment is captured at the point of purchase and the report is generated immediately afterwards.
4. Refunds
If a pro report fails to generate, contains plainly incorrect registration data, or you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days at support@carllama.co.uk with your session id and we'll refund or reissue.
5. Acceptable use
Don't scrape the service, share API responses publicly, or use CarLlama to harass anyone. Vehicle data is provided for personal due diligence only. Bulk or commercial use requires a separate agreement.
6. Privacy
We retain pro check results, the associated Stripe session id and the email address on file so we can re-send your report on request. We don't sell or share your data with anyone outside of the providers needed to deliver the service.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of CarLlama is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on this page; continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
